Assorted woods included in inlay are Curly Mango, Curly Koa, Maple, Wenge, Holly, Quilted Sapele Mahogany, Walnut and Cherry.

 

Hawaiian Koa is a cherished grained hardwood grown only in the Hawaiian Islands. It is prized for its beauty, rarity and high quality. 

 

All of the wood featured in this piece is natural -- no dye or paint was used.

This design was achieved through inlay or marquetry. Marquetry — a meticulous art in which tiny pieces of wood are inlaid to create intricate imagery — is a signature of Shaun’s work.
